About The Role
A private active family is seeking a warm, long-term Caregiver / Family Assistant to support their two high-functioning autistic 20-year-old twins.
- Location: Annapolis, MD
- Schedule: Monday-Friday afternoons and evenings, with flexibility
- Compensation: $28-$39 per hour based on experience
This role begins as part-time afterschool support and transitions into a full-time position in June as the twins graduate.
The ideal candidate is high-EQ, upbeat, and comfortable supporting young adults who are social, active, and engaged in sports, theater, music, and community activities. Nursing, teaching, or similar care backgrounds are strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
- After-school supervision and engagement
- Support with routines, transitions, and daily structure
- Transportation to activities, appointments, and outings
- Encouraging independence and life skills
- Weekend support as needed, including bowling and activities
- Overnight support when parents travel
- Being a steady, positive presence in a busy household
Qualifications:
- Experience supporting individuals on the autism spectrum
- Nursing, teaching, or long-term childcare background preferred
- High emotional intelligence, patience, and adaptability
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Comfortable with overnight stays and parental travel
- Long-term mindset and reliability
