About The Role

A private family is seeking an experienced DoP to oversee operations, staffing, vendor management, maintenance, projects, and service standards.

  • Location: New York City / Long Island / Hamptons
  • Compensation: $275,000 - $310,000
  • Schedule: Full-time, flexibility required + Travel required
This is a confidential search requiring the highest level of discretion, professionalism, and judgment. The role is based primarily out of New York City, with regular travel to Long Island properties. During the summer season, the role will be based in the Hamptons.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in private estate management, multi-property operations, team leadership, construction/project oversight, and high-touch private service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations and household functions across multiple private residences
  • Ensure all properties are maintained to the highest standards of readiness, presentation, safety, cleanliness, and service
  • Implement and uphold consistent household systems, policies, procedures, trainings, and service standards
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the principals’ preferences and ensure they are communicated and upheld across properties
  • Oversee interior and exterior maintenance, repairs, service contracts, vendor relationships, and property projects
  • Manage vendors and service providers, including HVAC, plumbing, security, AV/IT, appliances, landscaping, professional cleaning, and specialty trades
  • Review vendor proposals, approve invoices, and partner with accounting on payments, budgets, and expense tracking
  • Lead and manage household teams, including scheduling, training, performance oversight, hiring support, and conflict resolution
  • Ensure proper staffing coverage based on seasonal needs, principal schedules, guest visits, events, and property activity
  • Maintain regular communication with principals, management, property leads, household staff, and vendors
  • Provide clear updates on property status, open issues, projects, priorities, and areas requiring attention
  • Oversee construction, renovation, design, and special property projects as the principals’ representative
  • Support seasonal openings/closings, special events, guest stays, and high-touch hospitality needs
  • Research, negotiate, and coordinate significant purchases on behalf of the principals
  • Assist with household inventories, including art, furniture, equipment, and property-related assets
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion at all times
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant private estate management experience
  • Proven experience managing multiple private residences or complex UHNW household operations
  • Strong understanding of private service standards, household staffing, property maintenance, and vendor management
  • Experience overseeing construction, renovation, design, or capital improvement projects preferred
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented, and able to identify issues before they escalate
  • Polished, professional, discreet, and emotionally intelligent
  • Comfortable working with principals, senior management, household staff, vendors, and external advisors
  • Flexible schedule, including longer days, weekends, holidays, and seasonal demands as needed
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to travel regularly between properties
  • Clean background check required
